Tuina was first described in the Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine-an ancient Chinese medical text, as "finger pressure...used to increase digestive fire and restore vigour". Tuina is used today as an effective deep tissue massage used in conjunction with acupuncture treatments.
